A feminist political ecology analysis examining the structural, socio-cultural,
and economic barriers that constrain rural women’s participation in sustainable
ecosystem management (SEM) in Lupanda, Zimbabwe. The study highlights women’s
adaptive strategies, indigenous ecological knowledge, and proposes the
Gender–Ecosystem Governance Model (GEGM) as a framework for gender-responsive
climate governance.

This paper explores creative cultural industries as development frameworks
through a case study of Lupane Women’s Centre (LWC). Grounded in African Feminist
Theory and creative economy concepts, the research examines how cultural
production, artistic skills training, and women-centred leadership programmes
contribute to income generation, challenge gender norms, and support community
development in rural Zimbabwe.
